Facial Treatments Ellie's Beauty

Sammy

Tell us a little bit about your journey so far as a beauty therapist?

Sammy has always been obsessed with beauty from childhood. After leaving high school she studied at beauty school for a year, however, she left and got a job outside of the beauty industry as she wasn’t sure if she was going in the right direction. After two years of working, she was intent on getting back to her passion of beauty and returned to school to complete her diplomas. With her qualifications under her belt, Sammy took the brave step and opened her own beauty salon in South Africa. She ran her salon for a year and half before her move to the UK in 2020 just as the pandemic took hold. Sammy’s life has changed a lot since then as she welcomed a baby boy to the world. Her son is now nearly two and she feels ready to recommence her beauty career at Ellie’s Beauty.

What is your favourite thing about your job?

Sammy thoroughly enjoys getting treatments herself and loves that she has the ability to make someone else feel special and pampered. Sammy most enjoys transforming nails either through gel extensions or by creating challenging nail art with different styles and finishes.

What is your favourite way to spend a day off?

Sammy’s favourite way to spend a rainy day is at home on the sofa, enjoying some movies with her little boy or, if the weather is nice, a trip to the park with a blanket and picnic lunch.

What is your bucket list location and why?

Greece, Crete. Sammy’s husband is Greek so this is somewhere where she can feel truly at home. Sammy loves the food, the culture and of course the beautiful weather.

What is your favourite tv series?

Sammy couldn’t pin this down to one series, but she has something in common with Emma. With her appreciation of a good True Crime Documentary or Murder Thriller.

If money were no object, what would you do?

Sammy would like to build her career and open her own Salon. We love a bit of healthy competition and follow the Moto of women empowering other women.

What are the top three lessons you would teach your younger self?

1. Patience is key
2. To trust her gut more
3. Everything works out
